Who's side is Penny Webster on? Len's or the Ratepayers?

It must be difficult for her being on one hand the Mayor's finance manager/ supporter while on the other hand being seen to give Rodney ratepayers our finances to us.

True Bonnie. But that also means she's in the best position (3rd most powerful after the mayor and deputy mayor positions) of any councillor to discuss our needs with mayor Len Brown.

Why is a politican purposely surpressing documents and not allowing the community who voted her in to speak to Len Brown and other Councillors? Obviously Len has got her as head of Finance because she supports him and his grand inner city plans.

Real Rodney Roads is a great initiative! Like the way Facebook is going viral. Maybe someone will sit up and take note that we've had enough.

So is it Penny Webster or Len Brown who thinks up the priorities for what gets money allocated to be spent on it, like the sealing of roads?

They are both Politicians and they govern what the Council staff have to get prepared and get done. Politicians make the rules, like do or don't spend money on road sealing, depending on what criteria they wish to use to decide spending priorities eg: safety of unsealed roads that carry a few people a day verus a rail system that will carry thousands and is a better "business case". Brown is the Chair of the Budget Committee that decides this and is right hand person, the Deputy Chairman, is Webster. They lead the policy making.

Great, so Penny Webster is looking after Penny Webster, not us!

Bonnie, like the politicians you are spreading a mistruth - that a rail system that will carry thousands is a "better business case". That is a mistruth that cannot be supported by the reality of what is being proposed.

Proof is in the pudding. Are we getting the money to seal our roads. No!

Are are being ripped off and Webster is in cohorts with the Mayor to keep her extra salary as the Chair of Finance. She's lost sight of representing Rodney and is treating us like mushrooms - trying to keep us in the dark and feed us "bull". I'm pleased to see this site and Facebook sharing the facts with us.

I see we're still getting no extra money for seal. A bad political move by the Council!
