Geezz. So now we are going to have to pay more, over and above our rates, due to poor financial management by non-qualified politicians.

Auckland Council is greedy. Whereas all we want locally is a fair deal - nothing more than that - just a fair share of our rates being spent back here on road sealing and road maintenance.

Before Rodney people get asked to pay some other type of "tax", how about you spend our own money on Helensvilles roads. Even if you have to borrow it and pay it off from our millions we pay annually.

It's time to cut the cloth to fit. We're not the USA needing flash extras. We moved to Nz and its so much better than where we came from. Just spend what you get in rates. Don't borrow. Forget flashy railway systems - we can't afford it. People are happy if we get the basic services of Council. That's the 3 R's: Rates, Rubbish and Roads.

It's Penny Webster's job to push important for us. She better or come elections she might get a rude surprise! Achieving getting more money for Auckland's rail-link and other projects won't win her many votes up here. Getting our roads sealed, by spending our own money currently being paid in our own rates, will! Come on Councillor pull out your finger.

Don't you know you can "Leave it to her", "She's got it under control", "Don't worry about that", "It's more complicated than that", "She's passionate about roads", " I'm working with so and so on that" , "I can get the money to go further". Yeah right! Comforting to know it's all up to her. Looking forward to seeing more asphalting trucks out real soon then.

..... my road is worse than ever before .... and no sign of any Council trucks .... or graders! I hear one local has graded his road himself. Let's pay him and get the job done.
